Auburn River
P. veitchii High Finger × P. veitchii AR
Provenance
Plant Description
P. veitchii High Finger × P. veitchii AR is a cross between two distinctive Platycerium veitchii forms,
combining the elongated, upright finger-like crown structure of High Finger with the elevated crown and silvery characteristics of Auburn River (AR).
Morphological Expression
High Finger
Auburn River
High Finger contributes elongated, upright finger-like crown growth,
while Auburn River is recognized for its elevated crown structure and distinctive Aussie Silver form.
The cross has strong potential to develop a tall, refined, and highly dimensional crown.
Foliage Texture
The fronds display the characteristic silvery trichome coverage of P. veitchii.
Under suitable light and airflow, the foliage may develop frosted silver to silvery-white tones,
complementing the elongated crown structure with a highly distinctive appearance.
Specification & Release
Growth Condition
Stable and actively growing plant.
Care Tips
Light
May tolerate higher light if gradually acclimated;
enhances crown formation and silver coloration.
Watering
Water based on the condition of the sphagnum moss ball.
Water when it feels lightly moist, similar to a wrung-out towel.
Ensure proper airflow after watering to maintain a stable wet–dry cycle.
Avoid both prolonged wetness and complete desiccation.
Airflow
Strong airflow is essential to maintain crown integrity
and prevent moisture buildup.
Temp & Humidity
Ideal at 25–32°C with 50–70% humidity.
Notes
Crown height, finger-like structure, frond proportions, and silver coloration
may vary depending on genetic expression, maturity, light, and cultivation conditions.
Consistent, sufficient light combined with good airflow
helps enhance the characteristic high crown and silvery trichome expression of P. veitchii.
Allow 1–2 weeks of acclimation before gradually adjusting watering and light levels.
